BROWN BUTTER OMELETTE

This one does contain an exact recipe with macros but it is more of a procedure you can adopt to your own needs and liking. Late one night I was sitting around thinking about brown butter, yes it happens to me. And I thought, what if I cooked an omelette in it? Turns out the rich nutty tones of the butter compliment the eggs incredibly well! Give this a try, you won’t be mad!

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 Tbsp butter

  • 2 slices thick cut bacon

  • 2 oz cheese of choice (macros here are for Boar’s Head Deli American)

Recipe Steps:

  1. Cook bacon, crumble and set aside.

  2. Beat eggs.

  3. Heat skillet over medium heat, and add butter. Cook until the butter foams, the foam subsides and the butter solids are lightly browned. You will smell a light nutty scent. Should take around 5 minutes.

  4. Immediately add the eggs to the pan and stir. Then let sit to set up, lowering the heat on the stove.

  5. When eggs are mostly set, add the cheese and crumbled bacon to one side of the eggs and fold over. Cover the pan with a lid for 3-4 minutes to finish cooking.

  6. Plate the omelette and drizzle any remaining butter over the top. Enjoy!
