TACO CABBAGE BOWL

This spin on the traditional “egg roll in a bowl” takes us into spicy territory! It is not only full of flavor but also has a lot of volume. It is a great recipe to incorporate into your meal prep routine, and can be doubled or tripled with ease!

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces 85/15 Ground Beef

  • 16 ounces Cabbage, shredded

  • 2 TBSP Avocado oil

  • 2 TBSP Taco Seasoning Blend (Recipe Here)*

  • 1 Tsp Salt

  • 2 Jalapeño peppers, diced

  • 4 ounces Onion, diced

  • 4 ounces Pepper jack cheese

  • 8 TBSP Sour cream

*Note: You can use our seasoning blend recipe which contains no extra fillers or a blend of your choice.

Recipe Steps:

  1. Heat large skillet over medium-high heat with avocado oil

  2. Sauté ground beef until browned. Remove beef from skillet and leave the oil and rendered fat behind.

  3. Add onion and jalapeño. Sauté for 5 minutes.

  4. Add cabbage, taco seasoning and salt. Stir to combine, lower heat to medium and cover for 5 minutes.

  5. Remove cover, stir, and raise heat to medium high.

  6. Return beef to pan. Stir to combine and cook for 5 minutes together.

  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired. If you want a spicier kick, a few dashes of your hot sauce of choice are great here.

  8. Separate into 4 bowls, top each with an ounce of cheese and two TBSP of sour cream.

  9. If desired, you can now add cilantro, salsa, hot sauce, etc. These items are not in the recipe macros!
