ASIAN BEEF LENGUA

This packs a punch! Tender meat covered in an Asian flavored sauce that brings you a well rounded burst of umami! Feel free to serve on top of cauliflower rice.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 whole beef tongue

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 TBS garlic powder

  • 1 TBS onion powder

  • 1/2 TBS chili powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/4 tsp allspice

  • 1/4 tsp ginger

  • 1/2 cup beef broth (you can use bone too)

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • 1/4 cup coconut liquid aminos

  • 2 TBS rice vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil (optional )

RECIPE STEPS:

  1. Mix all the spices together

  2. Cover sides and bottom of the tongue (the top will peel off so no reason so season it but if you want, feel free to!)

  3. Pour all liquid ingredients into your pressure cooker

  4. Slowly add the tongue into liquid. (Make sure some of your tongue is not submerged)

  5. Cook on high pressure for 2 hrs.

  6. Remove and then peel the tongue skin off the meat. Slice and enjoy!

NOTE: If you do not have a pressure cooker, you can follow the same steps in an oven pot or crock pot. For the oven, bake at 300 for 5-7 hrs or until you can easily stick a fork through it. In the crock pot, cook on low for 8 hrs.
